Connect TiViMate to EmeraldIPTV in 10 steps
Install TiViMate
On Google TV and Android TV it comes straight from Google Play. On a Firestick it arrives through Downloader, as described in the Firestick guide. There is no version for Samsung, LG or Apple hardware, so ignore any listing claiming otherwise on those stores.
Add the playlist through Xtream Codes
Open TiViMate, choose Add playlist and pick Xtream Codes rather than M3U. Enter the server address, username and password from WhatsApp. Xtream brings in the guide and catch-up markers automatically, which an M3U link does not.
Wait for the guide to download
TiViMate shows a progress bar while it pulls in several thousand channels and a full programme guide. This takes a minute or two on first setup. Let it finish rather than interrupting, or the guide will be partly empty afterwards.
Check the Irish and UK channels
Open the Ireland group and start RTE, Virgin Media and TG4, then look at the UK group. Confirming these takes a minute and tells you whether the line-up suits your household before you spend time customising anything.
Hide the groups you will never open
Go to Settings, Playlists, your playlist, then Groups, and untick everything irrelevant. Cutting thirty groups down to six transforms the experience, because the grid guide becomes something you can scan rather than endlessly scroll.
Build a short favourites list
Long-press a channel and add it to favourites, then set favourites as the default group under Settings, General. Ten or twelve channels is plenty. This is the change people notice most a week later.
Line the guide up with Irish time
If programme names sit an hour out, open the playlist settings and adjust the EPG time shift until the current programme matches the clock. Check the device time zone is set correctly too, since Android boxes often ship on a default zone.
Use catch-up where channels support it
Channels with replay show a small icon in the guide. Scroll back along the timeline, select a programme that has already aired and it plays from the start. Catch-up needs Premium on TiViMate, which is the main reason people buy it.
Consider recording for fixture clashes
Premium also records from the guide to a connected drive or internal storage. Setting a recording before a match you will miss is more reliable than hoping the channel offers catch-up. Live sport recordings grow large quickly, so keep an eye on free space.
Decide whether Premium is worth it
For live viewing with a grid guide, the free version is enough. Premium adds catch-up, recording, multi-view and multiple playlists. Buy it only through the TiViMate Companion app on an Android phone, which is the sole official route. Codes sold on other sites tend to be cancelled.
Troubleshooting TiViMate: quick fixes for common errors
The playlist adds but no guide appears
Force an EPG refresh in the playlist settings rather than waiting. If it stays empty, check the device date and time are set automatically, because a wrong clock can make TiViMate discard guide data outright.
Channels are listed but will not play
The login is fine and the streams are not reaching you. Test the same details on mobile data with a phone. If they play there, ask support for an alternative server address for the home connection.
Catch-up is greyed out
Catch-up requires Premium, and it only appears on channels that actually offer replay. If you have Premium and the icon is still missing on a particular channel, that channel has no catch-up window, which is set by the broadcaster rather than by the player.
The guide scrolls slowly
Almost always too many groups. Hide the ones you never watch and the grid becomes responsive again. Reducing the number of days of guide data stored in the settings also helps on cheaper boxes with little memory.
Recording stops part way through
Check free space on the drive first, since live recordings grow fast. A USB drive formatted for another system may also drop out under sustained writing, so reformat it on the box itself if recordings keep failing.
Premium will not activate on the television
Premium is bought and activated through the Companion app on an Android phone, signed into the same Google account. Buying it any other way, particularly through a discount code site, is the usual reason activation fails.
Audio drifts out of sync
Use the audio delay control in the playback settings as a first step, then switch the decoder between hardware and software in the playback options. If every channel drifts, the device is struggling and the FHD stream will behave better than the 4K one.

Common questions about TiViMate
Is TiViMate free?
The basic version is free and covers live television with a grid guide and favourites. Catch-up, recording, multi-view and multiple playlists sit behind Premium, a paid upgrade from the developer. That purchase is entirely separate from your subscription with us.
Where should I buy Premium?
Only through the TiViMate Companion app on an Android phone, which is the official route. Yearly and lifetime options are offered there. Codes sold cheaply on other websites are regularly cancelled, and we cannot help recover money spent on one.
Can I use TiViMate on a Samsung or LG television?
No. It is Android software and those sets run Tizen and webOS, so no version exists or ever has. Use a player from the television store, or add an Android stick or box if TiViMate specifically is what you want.
Why pair TiViMate with Smarters?
Because each is better at a different job. TiViMate is the nicer way to watch live channels, and Smarters lays out films and series far more clearly. Both read the same EmeraldIPTV login, so running both costs nothing extra.
Does multi-view work well for sport?
On a capable box, yes, and it is one of the better reasons to buy Premium if you follow several matches at once. On a cheap stick, two streams at once will stutter. Bear in mind each stream still counts against your screen limit.
Can I move my setup to a new device?
TiViMate can back up its settings and restore them on another device, which saves rebuilding groups and favourites. Premium is tied to the Google account it was bought with, so sign in with the same account on the new box.
How many days of guide should I keep?
Two or three days is plenty for most households and keeps the app responsive. Storing a week of guide data across thousands of channels is what makes cheaper boxes feel sluggish when scrolling the grid.
